Safe, Professional Removal of Benign Skin Blemishes
Consultation-led treatment using advanced Thermolysis and Precision Cryotherapy
Our skin changes throughout our lives.
Age, genetics, hormones, sun exposure and everyday wear can all contribute to the development of skin blemishes such as skin tags, age-related growths, thread veins and other benign lesions.
Whilst these blemishes are usually harmless, they can still affect confidence, become irritated by clothing or jewellery, interfere with shaving or simply become something you're tired of seeing every day.
At In Sensu, I offer professional cosmetic removal of carefully selected benign skin lesions using advanced Thermolysis and Precision Cryotherapy.
Every treatment begins with a thorough consultation because the most important question isn't simply "Can this be removed?"
It's "Should it be removed?"
Whether you're looking for reassurance, treatment or simply honest advice, you'll receive a personalised assessment focused on both your safety and achieving the best possible cosmetic outcome.

More Than Cosmetic...
Because Feeling Comfortable In Your Skin Matters
Many people dismiss skin blemishes because they're "only cosmetic."
But cosmetic concerns can still have a genuine impact on everyday life.
Perhaps your skin tag catches on your necklace every morning.
Your cherry angioma bleeds whenever you dry yourself.
A seborrhoeic keratosis catches your razor.
You've spent years covering a blemish with make-up.
Or perhaps every time you look in the mirror, your eyes go straight to one particular mark.
You shouldn't have to simply live with something that affects your confidence.

Why Are More People
Seeking Private Treatment?
Over recent years, NHS services have become increasingly focused on treating conditions that require medical intervention.
As a result, many benign skin blemishes that are removed purely for cosmetic reasons are no longer routinely treated unless they meet specific clinical criteria.
For many people, this means there are only a few options:
-
Continue living with the blemish.
-
Seek treatment privately.
-
Consider specialist cosmetic removal.
Whilst private dermatology is absolutely the right choice where medical diagnosis, biopsy or surgical treatment is required, many benign cosmetic lesions can often be treated successfully using advanced Thermolysis or Precision Cryotherapy without the need for traditional surgical excision.
My goal is always to recommend the least invasive, most appropriate treatment for your individual skin concern.
Safety First
Your Safety Always Comes First
Not Every Lesion Should Be Removed
One of the biggest differences between an experienced skin practitioner and someone who simply removes blemishes is recognising when not to treat.
Every lesion is carefully assessed before treatment.
If there is any uncertainty regarding its appearance, history or behaviour, I will always recommend further medical assessment before considering cosmetic removal.
I will never remove a lesion simply because a client requests it.
Your health will always take priority over cosmetic treatment.
Professional Skin Cancer Awareness
MASCED Accredited
As part of my ongoing commitment to client safety, I hold the MASCED (Melanoma and Skin Cancer Early Detection) qualification, which is renewed annually in partnership with SKCIN (The Karen Clifford Skin Cancer Charity).
This nationally recognised training helps practitioners identify features that may indicate a lesion requires further medical assessment rather than cosmetic treatment.
Whilst MASCED accreditation does not qualify me to diagnose skin cancer, it provides additional knowledge and awareness to help ensure clients are directed towards the most appropriate medical care whenever necessary.
It forms an important part of my consultation process and reflects my commitment to safe, ethical and responsible practice.
Skin Lesion Assessment
Skin Lesion Assessment
Need Extra Reassurance? Introducing Map My Mole
Not every mole or skin lesion is suitable for cosmetic removal, and it's important that any lesion causing concern is assessed appropriately before treatment.
Map My Mole is a convenient skin lesion screening service that provides fast access to expert assessment by UK consultant dermatologists, without the need to wait for a hospital appointment or private dermatology consultation.
During your appointment, I will carefully examine your mole or skin lesion and capture a series of high-quality clinical and dermoscopic images using specialist equipment. These images, together with your medical history and details about the lesion, are securely submitted to the Map My Mole team for review by a UK consultant dermatologist.
You'll typically receive a comprehensive written report within 24–48 hours, explaining whether the lesion appears benign, whether any further investigation is recommended, or if it should be monitored or referred for additional assessment.
For many clients, the service provides valuable reassurance and the confidence to proceed with cosmetic blemish removal where appropriate. If further medical investigation is advised, you'll have expert guidance to help you take the next steps promptly.
Your safety will always come first, and I will only recommend cosmetic removal when it is appropriate to do so.
The service includes:
Professional dermoscopic imaging
Secure consultant dermatologist review
Written report, usually within 48 hours
Fast-track recommendations where appropriate
Confidence that you're following the safest pathway
If your lesion is confirmed as benign and suitable for cosmetic removal, treatment can then be planned with greater confidence.
What Can Be Treated?
Following consultation, treatment may be suitable for:

Choosing The Right Treatment
Unlike many clinics that only offer one treatment method, I provide more than one option.
This allows me to recommend the treatment most appropriate for the individual lesion rather than trying to make one technique work for everything.
Thermolysis
Thermolysis uses a very fine sterile probe to deliver a carefully controlled high-frequency current directly into the unwanted tissue.
The treatment is extremely precise, making it ideal for many smaller facial and body blemishes while minimising disruption to the surrounding skin.
Often suitable for:
-
Skin Tags
-
Thread Veins
-
Blood Spots
-
Sebaceous Hyperplasia
-
Milia
-
Certain Keratoses
Benefits include:
✓ Exceptional precision
✓ Excellent cosmetic outcomes
✓ Minimal downtime
✓ Ideal for delicate areas
Precision Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy uses carefully controlled extreme cold to destroy unwanted tissue.
Using precision application rather than broad freezing methods allows treatment to be directed exactly where it is needed whilst helping protect the surrounding skin.
Often suitable for:
-
Seborrhoeic Keratoses
-
Warts
-
Verrucae
-
Certain benign lesions
Which Treatment Will I Need?
There isn't one treatment that's "best."
The most appropriate method depends on:
-
The type of lesion
-
Its size
-
Its depth
-
Its location
-
Your skin type
-
Your medical history
-
Your desired cosmetic outcome
This is why consultation always comes first. I will carefully assess your Lesion and make a professional informed decision on the best route forward.

Healing & Results
Healing varies depending on the type of lesion and treatment performed.
Most treatments involve minimal downtime, with the treated area forming a small natural crust before healing over the following days or weeks.
Detailed aftercare advice will be provided to support optimal healing.
Although every skin procedure carries a small possibility of temporary pigmentation changes or scarring, careful treatment selection, professional technique and good aftercare all help achieve the best possible cosmetic outcome.

Frequently Asked Question
Does treatment hurt?
Most clients describe treatment as very manageable, with only brief moments of discomfort.
Will it scar?
Any treatment that removes skin carries some risk of scarring or pigmentation changes. Every effort is made to minimise this through careful assessment, appropriate technique and detailed aftercare.
Can everything be removed in one treatment?
Many lesions can be treated successfully in a single session, although larger or more stubborn lesions may require additional treatment.
Can you remove moles?
Only carefully selected benign lesions suitable for cosmetic treatment. Any lesion causing concern will always be referred for further assessment before treatment is considered.
How long does healing take?
Most areas heal within one to four weeks depending on the lesion and treatment used.
Whether your concern is purely cosmetic or you're simply looking for honest professional advice, I'd be delighted to help.
Book a consultation and we'll carefully assess your skin concern, discuss your options and create a personalised treatment plan that always puts your safety first.
